Immaculate Conception

The shape of this church is a tall long space with low sides. Getting good sound coverage in a room like this is typically very difficult. The usual solution is a center cluster with smaller delayed speakers placed at intervals along the length.

BOSE MA-12 line arrays were chosen for this application.

Bose MA-12 line arrays were chosen for this application because of their ability to concentrate sound in a narrow arc and project the sound a long distance. Keeping unwanted sound from reflecting off of the walls also reduces echos.

Bose Model 32se speakers were used for under balcony coverage and in the Narthex. One of the advantages of using Bose speakers is the many different speaker configurations they provide. This not only helps in the design and coverage but also results in having the same good sound quality thru-out the building.

A TOA 8 channel mixer was used for the lecturn and regular service mics. A larger mixer can be used for the choir and more complicated services. This allows the sound system to be used for simple events without a sound system operator.

A locking HSA RollRack keeps the sound equipment (including Shure & Bose digital processors) secure yet available for adjustment.

We demonstrated the system for the church to show them exactly how their future sound system would perform. This demo gave them the confidence to purchase this voice only system.
