St Austin Catholic Church in North Minneapolis was using a
sound system that was over 20 years old. The new sound system
used in a major remodel of the church needed to have high intelligibility,
home stereo sound quality and a minimal architectural impact.
There was no where a central cluster could be hidden while covering
the 100' long throws necessary to reach the rear seats.

The solution was to use six Bose 502A Panaray speakers
in 2 delay zones.

These compact speakers could be painted to match the
wood soffits running the length of the Nave while creating a very
"close" sounding system, even in the back row.

A Shure Automatic Mixer coupled with a Shure DFR-11 EQ/Feedback
reducer allows the system to be run hands free for daily mass. A
new lectern mic and UHF wireless lapel mic rounds out a system that
also includes a small mixer used for live music.
