St. Bartholomew The folks at St Barts contacted us and we met with them to determine their sound system needs. Our experience in this process helps assure the customer that they get all of the sound system features that they need. Add-ons after fact are never as successful as a well integrated initial plan. Then, using Bose Modeler software, we made a computer model of the church. We used Bose Auditioner to actually hear how the sound system will perform in the room. It was determined that a full time sound system operator would not be available. Using a Bose ControlSpace and adding an input card gave us a single unit capable of controlling all of the audio inputs and outputs of the system. ControlSpace also includes advanced signal routing and electronic processing. In the past we used a variety external processing equipment. ControlSpace eliminates all of that peripheral equipment with one elegant solution. In this installation we used Bose MA-12 Line Array speakers. (shown to the left - although we used white speakers - they can also be painted) While line arrays have become popular in the last few years, they can be difficult to use without the right tools. Bose Modeler and Audtioner allows us to install line arrays without the problems other installer experience. We used two sets of line arrays in this room, each three sections tall. Besides the acoustic advantage of the line arrays they were also a perfect match for the shape and decor of this church. In the picture to the right, they are barely visible! The sound system at St Barts also included Shure wired and wireless mics, All of our wireless systems include active antenna combiners for best performance. A Listen Technologies hearing assistance system with 6 receivers was supplied. Recording equipment was housed in a portable rack. Microphones and a separate monitor system was provided for the choir. Thousands of feet of video cable, mic runs and Ethernet wire was laid to make sure that this system would provide full capability for many years to come.
