Baseline Tennis Center   The sound system design for this space had two difficult challenges: All the long flat surfaces of the Tennis Center resulted in less than ideal acoustics. The coverage had to be carefully controlled to prevent the speakers from adding echoes to an already reverberant room. The sound system also had to double as a "Tournament System" and cover bleachers when they were added. Bose MA-12 Line Array speakers were used to cover the whole floor. Their wide flat pattern helped keep the sound off of the wall and on the desired areas. Some speakers can be turned off when those areas aren't used. The bleachers needed wider vertical coverage that the MA-12 could provide. When the bleachers are used the MA-12 switch off and Bose 402II speakers come on. The Bose Modeler computer program was used to find the right combination and number of speakers. It also showed us that we would have the coverage and intelligibility needed.
